Local companies Exmoor Adventures in Porlock and Channel Adventures in MInehead offer a wide range of activities on the water such as kyaking, canoeing, coasteering, paddleboarding and raft building.
Wimbleball Lake offers a range of outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, kyaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and fishing.
You will often see surfers when visiting Porlock Weir and Lynmouth.
There is a lovely walk along Porlock dog friendly beach and marshes to either Porlock Weir or Bossington Beach.
There is a long stretch of sandy beach between Dunster and Minehead. Blue Anchor, Quanotoxhead and Kilve are popular for fossil hunting.
Woolacombe with its award winning beach of 3 miles of golden sand is a popular day out for families and surfers to visit during their stay. (a scenic drive of approximately 30 miles from Porlock).
Wild Swimming
Woody Bay is one of my favourite places for wild swimming in the sea. There are also plenty of opportunities in the rivers – click here for some suggestions.
